The Qualities A Friend Should Have

Friends should not be sneaky, mistrustful, or not caring. They should be Honest, caring, loyal, and of course kind. This response is based on the book “Freak the mighty” and my personal experiences.
I think one of the qualities a friend should have is honesty. Honesty is when your friend does not lie to you at all, and admits things to you. An example is for this is from the book “The Pigman,” when Lorraine tells John some of his negative parts, like he gets away with murder too much. Friends should not try to trick you or pretend to like you. Friends should not steal from each other. I have an example that I have experienced, When I went to my friends house and I saw something that was mine. When I ask where she got it from or if I told her that it was mine she would say that her father got it for her from another place, or she bought it. I hate when that happens. Friends should ALWAYS keep promises, and do what they say they will do.
I think caring should be another quality a friend should definitely have. Caring is when your friend helps you and comforts you when something happened to you. Friends should always be there for you, at least that is what they say to you. Caring from a friend is when you get in trouble, and your friend saves you. An example from the book “Freak the Mighty,” when Max is being choked by his father Kevin comes and saves him. When you are being laughed at your friend defends you. I have had an experience which was when my friend was telling this boy to stop trying to insult me. Friends should help you cheer up when you feel down, and help you solve some problems. Friends should help you find somethng that you have lost. I have had an experience which was were I lost my keys to my locker, and one of my friends helped me try to find them.
I think that loyalty should be another quality a friend should have. Loyalty is when a friend cares about what you say, and takes it seriously. Without loyalty a friend could go out and tell all your secrets. Loyalty is where a friend knows how to and keeps secrets. An example for this is from the book “Freak the Mighty,” it is when Max does not tell anyone that Kevin told him that he was going to get a robot body. That was good that Max kept that a secret because, people would thing that Kevin was crazy. Friends should always go to appointments and meetings. An example from the book “Freak the Mighty,” when Kevin made a meeting for in the middle of the night. Kevin wanted to meet outside of his house so that they could get a wallet that Kevin found stuck in a gutter. Friends should also try to get into trouble with you. An example is like you get into trouble, and your friend says that she also helped do the naughty thing.
Friendships should be strong, and never break. When friends fight, it does not mean that the hate each other. It means that they are very close, like sisters or brothers. I have been very close to someone, and we have fought a lot. Friends should have at least the three qualities that were mentioned in this response which were Honesty, Caring, and Loyalty. All people have to have all the good qualities and get rid of all the bad like hate, having enemies, and being self centred.
